CIS Events

The Communities In Schools program at Bayside Intermediate School plans a variety of activities throughout the year to empower students to stay in school and achieve in life.  We are grateful to our campus and community for helping us with various events throughout the year.

Clear Lake Regional Health Fair
Thanksgiving Dinner Clear Lake Regional

Thanksgiving Dinner:
Clear Lake Regional Center provides a Thanksgiving meal for at risk families.  At risk families are not able to provide a Thanksgiving meal due to financial constraints. Clear Lake Regional allows the families to enjoy a great meal.  This event promotes parental involvement and family binding time.

Food Drive:
CIS collaborates with Bayside Intermediate administration to arrange a campus wide food drive.  The students bring a nonperishable or personal care item in exchange for a jean pass.  The proceeds are given to families in need of assistance with food.

Clothing Drive:
Communities In Schools - Bay Area arranges a standardized dress drive for the entire campus.  The grade level wit the most donations is given a free dress day.  CIS is able to provide clothing to students at the beginning of the school year. The clothing is also available to students throughout the school year. Every student is able to benefit from this drive.

School Supplies Drive:
One of the many resources CIS-Bay Area offers students is furnishing school supplies. These supplies are always needed at the beginning of the year, but CIS distributes supplies every day to students who cannot afford them. The most needed school supplies are:
  • 3 and 5-subject Spiral Notebooks
  • Folders with and without Brads
  • Composition Books
  • Flash Drives
  • Highlighters
  • Dividers
  • 1 and 2-inch Ring Binders
  • College Ruled Paper
  • Sketch Pads
  • Graph Paper
