The Bay Area community benefits when our children stay in school and graduate. Dropouts typically earn less and become a financial burden on society. Over 80 % of those incarcerated in Texas prisons are high school drop outs. Society can pay now for educating our “at risk” students or pay later through the cost of welfare and incarceration.

Communities In Schools-Bay Area’s on-campus dropout prevention program currently provides widely accessible services for the entire campus and serves 90 – 100 students one-on-one. Communities In Schools-Bay Area (CIS-Bay Area) is part of a nationally recognized dropout prevention program.
